Providers are usually the first to acknowledge a pregnant female could potentially be syphilis case. This is a large sector that is usually not always up to date on requirements and recommendations to avoid a congenital case. Nor are they aware of how the STD program can benefit their facilities. This intervention not only provides education but it also builds a relationship with providers who will quickly learn how great of an asset the STD can be on their behalf.
