2022 Innovative Practices Award

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Innovative Practice Award was created to honor and share the best local public health practices created or significantly adapted in response to a specific and emerging public health threat. Often, the inequitable structuring of resources and power across society cause some populations to be disproportionately impacted by public health threats, resulting in health inequities. The 2022 Innovative Practice Award will focus on practices that were developed in response to emerging and exacerbated health inequities due to COVID-19 and demonstrate effective community partnerships and collaboration, adaptability and quality improvement, and remarkable innovation. For more information and advice from past applications, visit the NACCHO Awards webpage.

Your practice is right for the Innovative Practice Award application if:
(1) it was developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic with the aim of addressing health inequities OR
(2) it was creatively adapted to meet the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic with the aim of addressing health inequities, AND
(3) the practice demonstrates remarkable innovation to address COVID-19 health inequities, but does not yet exhibit the same rigorous program evaluation or long-term sustainability as a Model Practice.

Please note: All applications must be submitted through the online application portal, but the PDF version is available for reference.
